Hi Santa Clara County Residents,
Santa Clara County Board of Supervisors (BOS) FGOC committee is going to decide on Tuesday, 4/15/25 whether to switch county elections to use Ranked Choice Voting or not.
People didn’t ask for this! Paid lobbyists did! If you don’t want the BOS to fundamentally change how we vote, come out and support our effort to stop this!

Step 1:
Please first submit a written public comment by email to fgocagenda@cob.sccgov.org BEFORE Monday, 4/14/25, 1pm.
The email can be as simple as below.
Subject: RE: No on Ranked Choice Vote
Send to: fgocagenda@cob.sccgov.org, BoardOperations@cob.sccgov.org
Email content:
“I am a Santa Clara County resident; I am shocked to hear the board is considering switching our elections to Ranked Choice Voting. Our current election system is fine! We don’t want to use Ranked Choice Voting!”
Or a variation of that. You can further elaborate as “waste of money, it’s too complication, it’s confusing, error rate too high, too manipulable, not fair to minority, here are some talking points you can use in the email or in the speech should you plan to go to the meeting:
- RCV is too costly
- RCV is difficult to rank candidates
- RCV is difficult to verify and maintain credibility
- RCV is too complicated; will cause voter confusion and distrust
- RCV is not transparent; potential risk for strategic manipulation and election fraud
- RCV violates one person one vote principle
- RCV will cause delays on final election result
Step 2:
RSVP in the form below: choose one of the options to indicate how you will show up for the meeting 1:30pm Tuesday 4/15， so we can prepare the right amount of signs (we are expecting 50+ participants!).
